Professional Body Sugaring
Gentle hair removal developed by the ancient Egyptians. The anti-bacterial, hypoallergenic, all-natural paste is gentle enough for ALL skin types. Stop hair from coming back with repeated treatments.
Sugaring vs. Waxing
When waxing, you remove the hair against the natural direction of growth, causing undue levels of pain. With Alexandria Professional's sugaring method, you only remove the hair in the natural direction of the hair growth. This fact alone can make a world of difference in your comfort. This is especially important for those who have suffered in the past with waxing in sensitive areas.
Wax products are made of resins which adhere to the skin. Because wax sticks to any surface it is applied to, pulling it causes unwarranted discomfort. Alexandria Professional sugaring products never adhere to live skin cells. Therefore, when it is removed, it only gently exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving behind soft, smooth skin. Additionally, because sugaring paste is all-natural and water soluble, it can be easily removed from clothing and the massage table. Info courtesy of AlexandriaProfessional.com.

Hope with Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a component of the health care system in China that can be traced back at least 3,500 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are meridians of energy flow (Qi) throughout the body that are essential for health. Disruptions in this energy flow are believed to be responsible for disease and pain. Acupuncture corrects these imbalances of energy flow at identifiable points known as acupuncture points.
The practice of acupuncture to treat pathophysiological (disease) conditions in American medicine was rare until the visit of President Richard M. Nixon to China in 1972. Acupuncture was being talked about everywhere because one of President Nixon's press staff, James Reston, had an emergency appendectomy with post-operative acupuncture to address pain when he was in Beijing the summer before Nixon's trip. Reston wrote an article on the experience for the New York Times. That was a big break for the field of oriental medicine. Since that time, there has been an explosion of interest in the United States and Europe in the application of the technique of acupuncture to Western medicine.
There are a variety of approaches to diagnose and treat in acupuncture that incorporate traditions from China, Korea, Japan, and other countries. The most thoroughly studied mechanism of stimulation is acupuncture points.
Recognized and endorsed by both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institutes of Health, Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine are effective in treating a wide range of illnesses and maladies.
Gua Sha meaning "scraping bruises", is a traditional Chinese medical treatment in which the skin is scraped to produce light bruising. Practitioners believe Gua Sha releases unhealthy elements from injured areas and stimulates blood flow and healing. Gua Sha is sometimes referred to as "spooning" or "coining".
Gua Sha involves pressured strokes over lubricated skin with a smooth edge. Commonly a ceramic Chinese soup spoon was used, well worn coin, honed animal bones, water buffalo horn, or even jade.
The smooth edge is placed against the oiled skin surface, pressed down firmly, and then moved down the muscles (hence the term "scraping"), or along the pathway of the acupuncture meridians, along the surface of the skin, with each stroke being 4 - 6 inches long.
This causes the removal of stale, old blood from the peripheral capillaries and may result in subcutaneous blemishing, which usually takes 2 - 4 days to fade. Sha rash does not represent capillary rupture as in bruising, as is evidenced by the immediate fading of the markings and the rapid resolution of Sha as compared to bruising.
Practitioners tend to follow the tradition they were taught to obtain Sha: typically using Gua Sha or fire cupping. The techniques are sometimes used together.
- Red Spots - Indicates the release of toxins
